HH&K Partner and Co-Liaison Counsel to the PSC in the BP Oil case, Steve Herman, speaks to WWL-TV about the multi-billion dollar settlement BP agreed to in 2012, but changed its tune when its separate negotiations with the government over massive civil penalties went south, resulting in the trial BP was so desperately trying to avoid.
“It didn’t pan out for them with the government and that’s why — one of the reasons why — I believe they made an about-face on the private settlement,” said Herman.
