On Friday, May 9, 2014, Lawyers Renew, a grassroots association of attorneys and bar organizations, held a Louisiana Lawyer’s Oath Renewal Ceremony at the Shaw Center for Arts in Baton Rouge. Louisiana Supreme Court Associate Justices Greg G. Guidry, Jefferson D. Hughes, III, Jeanette Theriot Knoll and John L. Weiner administered the lawyer’s oath. Judge John Michael Guidry of the Louisiana Court of Appeal, First Circuit, offered the benediction. Chief Judge Trudy M. White of 19th Judicial District Court was among the program speakers.
HH&K Partner Stephen J. Herman was a guest speaker and representative of the Louisiana Association for Justice as its president-elect. At the ceremony, attorneys voluntarily reaffirmed their professional commitment by reciting the Louisiana Attorney Oath, which was administered when they were first sworn in as members of the Louisiana bar. Lawyers who participated were given a commemorative copy of the lawyer’s oath.
