David Vitter originally opined that there were thousands of Syrian refugees in Louisiana. The truth is, there are only 14 who are now receiving death threats. As usual, David Vitter sought to make political hay by firing off a letter to Mayor Mitch Landrieu demanding that the mayor do something. Actually, in Louisiana, Catholic Charities Immigration and Refugee Services is the agency which resettles and helps those Syrian refugees. Catholic Charities is an agency of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Wendy Vitter is the Archdiocese general counsel. David Vitter needs to fire the letter off to his wife.
David Vitter was also absent from two of the three U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee hearings on Syria held from 2012 to 2014.
