Patrick Busby

Patrick R. Busby is an associate with Herman, Herman & Katz, L.L.C. Mr. Busby attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama on an academic and leadership scholarship. In 2004, he graduated cum laude and earned a B.S. in Finance/Economics.

He subsequently attended Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama, where in three years, he completed a joint program to earn a Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration. While in law school, Mr. Busby clerked for the Louisiana Supreme Court and a Birmingham-based law firm heavily engaged in complex litigation. During law school, he was also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, participated in both mediation and moot court competitions and studied abroad in Durham, England with the school’s summer abroad program.

Upon graduating law school, Mr. Busby practiced as an associate for four years at a Tulsa-based law firm. As a member of the firm’s business litigation section, he regularly practiced in Oklahoma state and federal courts. While in Oklahoma, Mr. Busby was heavily involved with the Tulsa Young Professional organization and served as a TYPROS board member for the American Heart Association, where he engaged in fundraising and assisted in running the AHA’s annual Heart Walk.

Upon leaving Oklahoma in 2011, Mr. Busby moved back to New Orleans and worked remotely as the legal advisor for an emerging Oklahoma-based state of the art engineering software company. In 2012, Mr. Busby transitioned to the business development division of the company. Thereafter in late 2012 and prior to becoming an associate with Herman, Herman & Katz, L.L.C., Mr. Busby worked as a business economic loss consultant for the firm with regard to the Deepwater Horizon Settlement Program. He is a member of the Louisiana, Alabama and Oklahoma State Bar Associations and has been an active member of the Krewe of Endymion for the past eight years.
