HH&K partner Steven Lane was recently featured in Lawdragon Magazine’s Lawyer Limelight. In the interview, Mr. Lane discussed his early days before and after he started at the firm, the difficulties he experienced as the managing partner of HH&K and a family law attorney during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, working with the ACLU in its litigation regarding marriage equality, and working for the developers to revive the World Trade Center in New Orleans.
When asked about his early professional motivation, Mr. Lane said, “I wanted to become a lawyer because I thought it was a very honorable and prestigious profession. It is an honor to be a lawyer. And it’s very unfortunate that lawyers have the negative reputation they do because for the most part the vast majority of lawyers are out there doing everything they can to assist the public, doing pro bono work, doing volunteer work.”
